Lori Esposito is a Providence based artist. She received her BFA from RMCAD, MA from Ohio University and MFA in Studio Art at UNC, Chapel Hill. Her work has been published in international neurological science journals, collected by the the Embassy of Panama. In 1998 she interned with the Walt Disney World animation studio and facilitated cultural exchanges through their international programs office. She has initiated community projects within agricultural rural and urban regions within the united states. Working to bring arts infused experiences to communities under-served by the arts she has volunteered for numerous local and regional non-profit arts organizations. In addition to exhibiting nationally at Museums such as the Corcoran and the Columbus Museum of Art, Art Centers such as Headlands Center for contemporary Art and galleries through the US, her work has also been included in international art fairs such as Scope and Aqua Art. After teaching painting in North Dakota for two years she continued to become increasingly intruiged by similarities between remote rural and coastal urban locals. Subsequently, her work is influenced by a transient exposure to culturally and ecologically diverse and disparate environments. Her research is accompanied by an experiential understanding of synesthesia, a cross-sensorial phenomenon integrating color, memory, emotion and language. Her interests in cultural landscapes are viewed, in part, through a neurological lens. She believes that the inclusion of diverse world views are useful for constructing more holistic human understandings. Currently, she is teaching drawing at the Rhode Island College of Art and Design.
