These drawings started as a study in tone and composition for my paintings. I wanted to explore a less-is-more approach whereby I tried to create a feeling of melancholy beauty but without using my usual device of colour and drippy paint. There are 6 drawings in this series. The drawing has been professionally framed. The drawing is floated and is framed behind non-reflective glass.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I like to say that I paint ‘The Edge of The Rainbow’. The term comes from Donna Tartt’s novel, The Goldfinch as she describes a space that sits just beyond reality, where all beauty, magic and art exists. My paintings are an attempt to conjure this space, to break through this reality and try and grasp what lies just beyond what we can see. Its a place that is blurry, shimmering and impossible to capture. In practice, I use layers and layers of thin, runny oil paint to create glowing glazes of colour that vibrate and change in the light. As I apply each translucent layer I like to imagine that light and air is caught within the painting, allowing it to breathe and come alive.
