Representational Artist, working primarily in Dry Media. Following a successful career as a digital artist, my practice led me to develop my skills in drawing originally as a way to enhance how I made digital works, but as I progressed I rediscovered my passion for creating something that is purely from within me. I now see it as a way to express myself much more individualistically than via digital means. A love of sculpture and an obsession with describing form reveals itself in my work, particularly in the drawings here on display. I visit galleries and draw sculptures from life. Making copious studies, cocooned from the hustle and bustle, I am transfixed by the masterly use of material, and beauty of the human form. Inspired by the resurgence in the atelier movement, the cornerstones of my drawings are observation, and expressive mark-making. I find drawing to be simultaneously a simple and immediate form of expression, whilst being an endlessly complex activity that discloses everyday that there is yet more to discover. It is this duality that fascinates and entices me.
