ABOUT THE ARTWORK
It was in the alpine foothills of Italy. The early spring sun was strong enough to partly melt snow, and to let the green grass appear on the slopes. Suddenly, fog and snowfall enveloped the landscape, transforming it in an instant. In that moment, the shepherd was herding his sheep down to the valley, same as ten or three hundred years ago. Time seemed to be frozen in that place, allowing nature to demonstrate the vulnerability of Man. The technique of soft pastel on paper called Pastelmat was expressive and picturesque for this strong moment.
