The Yòrùbá cosmogony "Ewúré jelé jelé" is usually expressed during funerals, a phrase used to describe the dead. This allegory can be likened to the mindstate of an addict, a nihilist youth, lost in a trance, paying no mind to the grips of reality. The muscular core symbolizes a great strength within (a potential for greatness) but this morphs to disproportionately thin arms which symbolizes a will dampened by constant substance abuse. The shrouded face is a metaphor denoting the anonymity and stigma surrounding mental health awareness in Africa.
