Expressing the painter’s memory - Jongmyo shrine Ⅰ Drawing

Jongmyo, in the Seoul of Korea, is confucian royal rite architecture of the eastern asia, where the ancestral tablets of the kings and the queens of the Joseon dynasty were enshrined and the national memorial services were held. Jongmyo, of which space planning method is very peculiar, was the noble and symbolic confucian place and the best shrine in which the national ritual ceremonies were held, the dignity of the crown and the foundation of the Joseon dynasty were established. The painter embodied the images and the feelings of the sublimity which she experienced through the colours and spaces. She intended to draw the scent of the long history by means of the traces felt with overlapping the images of time, space expressed by the lines and colours.
