I love these little Forget-me-not flowers. If I had to pick a favourite flower it might be this one. I love how small and insignificant they seem and yet how beautiful they are. The name reminds me that no matter how small and insignificant you may seem, you can still add so much beauty to the world around you. Maybe everyone won't see and notice it but someone will and they will be lifted by your presence. This piece was done on acid free paper with Faber-Castelle Polychromos pencils and Pan pastels for the background.

I grew up in warm, sunny Houston, Texas. My mother said I was singing and dancing before I could even walk. I began dancing when I was 3 and continued to do that through my time in University. I married the most amazing man and our adventures took us to the beautiful country of Germany where we have resided for the last 13 years. I am a wife and mother to 4 young, beautiful, energetic, and expressive children. They definitely keep me very busy but I love being creative whenever I get the chance and strive to make as much time for it as possible. I discovered I could draw a few years ago by accident. I just happened to sketch my daughter on a scratch piece of paper and it looked just like her. I was shocked but I was too tired and couldn’t concentrate enough to pursue it at the time. As the mother of 4 energetic children, living abroad due to my husband’s job and trying to cope with the challenges of life in a foreign country, I didn’t have the time or energy to pursue drawing. However, when life took a downward spiral at the end of 2019, I ended up at my parents’ house in January 2020 to get help with 13 long years of severe depression and anxiety that was crippling me. Suddenly I had all the time in the world to take care of just me. During this time of healing, I was also diagnosed with severe ADHD and started medication for it too. This was life changing as I have never been able to sit still long enough to do anything requiring any amount of sitting. I've always been a dancer for that reason. Even with crippling depression my body would force me out of bed to do things. So during this time of my brain and body quieting, I picked up a pencil and paper and started a new adventure in art. I love beautiful things and sharing joy and goodness whenever I can. I hope that's what I can do with my art.
