What is Art? That question sleeps and takes refuge inside my mind. The thought that before science and democracy,art was being put on this earth is just amazing. It is part of our most inner self. We sense it, we react to it.Greatness and power are found in the sculptures of the Roman Empire to Greece, from the Chinese to the Mesopotamian culture to the Indians and with them not only we could better understand they're world, culture and beliefs of it's people but also connect with our ancestors simply by observing, analyzing and feeling the beauty they created. Either on painting or sculpture, movies or jewelry, Art was always a mirror of the human soul. Today, like our ancestors, i seek that same glory and greatness through my Art. I seek to produce incalculable value and with it, change the world. This hand represents the struggle of every day human, surrounded by all the challenges we come across on this earth. The face and identity we see are located in the face, but it is with the hands we perform our work and always moved civilization forward. Modern society is proud of all the luxuries we process, how easy it is to fulfill our human needs with the least amount of effort, but little by little we get weaker and weaker. How the people on top of the world rest upon shoulders whose cries and efforts are unseen or not cherished like a pop songwriter or an actor. How the face and genetics are valued above hard thought and hard work.This hand represents the suffering of a hardworking man, facing his loss of proper reward. Using detailed patterns and shapes to give a sense of complexity and confusion, like life is. A reminder that only through struggle, we can find rest.
