About The Artwork
Inspired by the character and achievements of Niki Lauda and his remarkable recovery from near fatal injuries sustained in 1976. This art aims to capture the lull before the storm, Lauda looking relaxed before the intensity of starting a Grand Prix during his third World Championship year in 1984. Using soft core coloured pencils throughout, the vividness and detail of helmet and race suit contrasts with the darker, almost monochrome interior of the drivers' cockpit.
