Melodic Minor Nº 11 Drawing

The Melodic Minor series is a group of works about the growth of a lush, exotic and dense environment filled with abstracted hints from gardens and woods. As if I am creating a fluid and expressive kind of nature that thrives in a contemporary urban world. I have taken shapes from the leaves, flowers and trees around me and blended them with visual 'musical tones' that are moody, romantic and emotionally charged. Some inside the studio notes on this piece...this drawing has been in my studio for awhile. I worked on it off and on for quite some time because early on in its development unexpected tension in the composition occurred that I wanted to respect and build from vs. tearing down.
