This is one of a series of drawings I made in 2015 called Memento Mori, which is latin for "remember death". I was drawn to this contemplation through many spiritual questions I was encountering in various philosophical explorations and yoga studies. Rather than an obsession or worry about death, I was beginning what has been an ongoing search for meaning in human existence and tracking of humanity's development in spiritual, ethical and moral matters. I like the idea of a physical "Memento" or visual reminder, to help me stay connected to bigger ideas as I live my daily life.

b 1977 I am deeply interested in human nature and understanding the principles that move our behaviors, desires, intentions and awareness. I love real beauty and genuine kindness, which I believe to be correlated and difficult to see clearly. It takes real depth. I live in Venice Beach, California near the ocean.
