Drawing: Pastel, Pencil on Paper, Canvas.
Written memory of a dream…
Original abstract pastel drawing on paper mounted on canvas. Side edges of canvas painted black, ready to hang. Part of the “Summer and Fall” series. Large shapes of diverse forms and colors across quiet backgrounds. The transition from summer to fall is a time that juxtaposes the rapid luxuriant activity of the growing season with a slowing down, a shedding of parts, an onset of dormancy. Both are held in tension at the same moment. These eclectic works grew out of the “Chasing Light” series but they are much slower in pace, they have larger, diverse elements, more stasis. The time for exuberant, ephemerality is being left behind, frantic activity is being replaced by contemplation, distinct moments last longer.
