FavoritesI became inspired on a trip to Morocco by the goats who climb trees in order to eat the leaves. Later I noticed that some people actually tied the goats in, once they have climbed he tree, so tourists will pay to photograph them. I found this behavior very cruel to the animals. I hope viewers will find the image refreshingly unusual and a bit provocative. I use the medium of charcoal because I can make large drawings on paper more easily than I can with pencil. this image is part of my Anthropomorphic Tree group of drawings from my World Tree Series. I have found that I like to create representational art that is not super realistic, but has a subject is visible. Medium: charcoal on paper.Year Created: 2009
