About The Artwork
My work involves textile and yarns, Niuafo'ou is a representation of submerged volcano of the same name, I am hoping to engage the urgent prospect of an increased awareness of the delicate balance in the worlds sea's. Work created for the Royal Hibernian Academy. The media and technique behind this work focuses on small islands dependence on international action to slow climate change and eradicate needless waste whilst promoting climate action, Involving aspects of crafting and drawing to emphasise the need for human scale as an international objective. €750.00 Niuafoʻou is the northernmost island in the kingdom of Tonga. One of the Niua Islands, it is located in the southern Pacific Ocean between Fiji and Samoa.
