This is from a series of preliminary drawings done in prepartation for oil paintings. The use of metalpoint on prepared paper is an old master technique used in a new way. There is an emphasis on the slow build up of the material to reveal the atmospheric light and 3 dimensional form. I am interested in the expression of the body through the use of yoga poses.
