Art Description

Drawing: Graphite, Pencil, Black & White, Paper on Paper.

I am big Shakespeare fan and this is my first successful attempt at capturing one of his wonderful characters. I hope to do more in the future. Oberon was the king of the fairies in A Midsummer Nights Dream—an ethereal creature who ruled the forest by fear. It is his mischievous sense of humour however, which propels the play and leads to a happy ending for all. The picture was drawn with 6B pencils and erasers were used to 'cut' out the highlights and lighter parts. The paper is Stonehenge with jagged edges on the top and bottom.
