PERSIAN CAT Soft pastel, paper. Size: 60.6 W x 48.3 H cm (unframed) This artwork is sold unframed. The Persian cat, as numerous legends tell us, was known back in ancient Persia, where it was discovered by an Italian traveler. Of course, animals living a few centuries ago were not similar to the modern Persian breed, but there are still some similarities. It is interesting that according to one version, the Persian cat was created by a magician, who simply took a sparkle from the fire, added to it the shine of distant bright stars and some smoke. The story is admirable, but it also has a rationale, because all these features represent the essence of the breed: a delicate smoky coat, shining eyes with fire and a magical character. I drew a cute Persian cat leaning against the wall. He decided to take a break from the midday heat. You can notice that the blue color of the background of the picture seems to shine through the cat's fur. Actually, this is the color of the paper itself, I really wanted the color to show through the fur. In the picture you can see that the cat is very fluffy, he has a beautiful red fur and soft paws.
