Perfection in Black. Scene 3. Drawing

This picture is the part of the triptych named "Perfection in Black". The triptych is based on "Black Swan" movie. Some shots were taken for creation of this composition. The main character is depicted on the canvases. She appears before the audience in different states: excitement and anxiety before the performance (Scene 1), confusion and resentment during choreographer criticism (Scene 2), endevour in every movement during a rehearsal that characterizes the deep purposeful striving for professional growth (Scene 3). "Accurate proportions, the finest measurements and weights will never give the correct result by the calculation in head and deductive weighing. These proportions can not be calculated, no one can find these weights." (V. Kandinsky, "Concerning the Spiritual Art"). An essential role is in colour. Blue colors of this triptych are drowning in black. Depicted character alienates from the viewer with the coldness of this colours, so she is confined in her loneliness and splitting. Blue, immersed in black, also characterizes such feelings of the heroine, as sadness and anxiety. Very bright blue sounds on black brighter and finer, emphasizing the character of the heroine feelings. Black is undoubtedly the symbol of immersion in the "dark side", the completion of personality splitting. Its unique sound, saying that there is no future and continuation, faded state, magnetism, attract more than anything else; therefore we see ending and perfection in «this» black, which remind us that it’s greatly important to seek unity with yourself.
