"Rivka: The Rejection" is an ink sketch artwork which belongs to the series "Pomegranate Queen", inspired by my recent psychotherapeutic journey back in time to my adolescent years. Consequentially, I have decided to use my poems from the same time period for these art pieces. Rivka has been rejected for the majority of her life: by men, by authorities, by work partners. Every rejection has left a squeezing sensation in her thighs and buttocks as if every hand that has touched her has taken a part of her flesh. Today she rises high above the reality which she had lived through. But was she able to embrace it, or did she just step over her own feelings, and other beings, to get there? (C) 2002 TRANSLATED POETRY (ENGLISH) Ah, if I were to become a brilliant singer, I would sing about eternal love. I would want my fans, loyal, ardent and eager To fight for my honor, with rivals in blood. My dream is to be the heroine of the movies: It’s allowed to lie there, because the role is a mock. I would love to sail in a sea on a blue schooner, Where above the water there are only seagulls and fog. I lack stability, peace, and affection. I want to choose silence, to suffer, but to know That everything will end, like in a fairy tale deception, And carriage with happiness will wait by the door. (C) 2002 *** All original paintings include a certificate of authentication and a piece of original and translated poetry with an autograph attached to the back of the painting.

Elena Emma's unique painting and writing style exudes infinite inner depth and freedom. All of her paintings, completed with an illustrative playful touch, have a piece of unique, immensely deep poetry dedicated to them, contrasting the complexity of adult-like subjects with child-like strokes. As a diverse writer, emerging artist, startup consultant and entrepreneur, a professor, a mother of two boys, and a passionate, curious, and spiritual woman, Elena draws her inspiration from experiential fearlessness, deep observational analysis, continuous soul searching, and never-ending internal and external growth. Her visual and written stories, often told from a female perspective, concentrate on exploring the larger picture in business, love, and being. They stimulate the reader and the viewer with open-ended questions and strong encouragement to find his or her own truth. Her characters and situations are multi-dimensional, and through them, she often challenges widely-accepted designations of personal and professional, new and old, right and wrong, good and bad, blurring the preset differences between these terms, and offering new definitions. Elena is the authentic "voice" of her generation, of those born in the 1980s and 1990s to a world of distorted physical, geographical, and moral boundaries, who are yet to find balance between the inborn inner wisdom and cynical dissonance of outside happenings. Be it fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or paintings, Elena Emma's artwork will leave you mildly teary-eyed and contemplative about your own daily existence and the changes you can make to it. THE SKY IS NO LIMIT.
