This Study of "A" Reclined is an intimate portrait of a very close friend. We have known each other for twenty years and she is also one of my collectors. She had never posed for me before and decided that she wanted to become a muse and a part of my work. every time someone poses for you it becomes more and more familiar and intimate. The drawing is created in Liquitex Professional Ink and Winsor & Newton Watercolors on 140lb Fabriano watercolor paper. I provide a certificate of authenticity.

Stewart Fletcher’s paintings, drawings and works on paper have been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions over the past forty years. His paintings, drawings and works on paper are part of several private international collections in over 20 countries and in 36 American States. Known for his fascination with the human body, Fletcher explores various concepts beyond the representational image. The great equalizer he believes is when one's clothing is removed. All identifiers and societal statuses disappear and the real person appears. Fletcher does not believe that his work is erotic, however some people do because of their social, religious and regional upbringing. He often uses humour and satire to convey his views on the world around him..
