Alistair Cooke | Contemporary Visual Artist Based in Bellavista, Huelva, Spain, Alistair Cooke is a British contemporary visual artist who pioneered the Chalk Mosaic method. Born in York, England, he developed his foundational artistic training at the Academy of Arts in The Hague during his "Dutch Period". Rejecting traditional blending, Alistair works exclusively with Rembrandt soft pastels, applying pigment in distinct, unblended "tiles" of pure color. This structural reconstruction creates a shimmering optical texture where the viewer’s eye bridges the forms. His compositions carry deep personal memory; the structural markers defining the work are named after his late wife, Caroline. Recently expanding his technique to silk substrates, Alistair's highly textured style continues to attract international collectors and curated features.
