"TR11-11-06" is one of the first drawings of "Tabula rasa". This drawing is made of transparent objects. The projected shadows are the only witnesses of the presence of these objects. I was born near Paris in 1967. I live in Lyon, France, since 2005. My work answers a personal necessity: simplify, cut, and remove all which is superfluous to keep only the main part. I recompose with diverse materials such as molded paper, ceramic... Assembling is my modus operandi and also a way to structure my thought. Little by little the echo, the imitation or the replica appears and allows me to visit what remains often unnoticed or something hidden and what remains to reveal. “Tabula Rasa” is realized from shadows of glasses and other essentially transparent dining objects. In this project I try to pursue the dialectic between the presence of the object, the subject, its representation and the way to show it, answering to a constant necessity. It appears in the projected shadows that draw and model the work. And it is at this unbearable limit that it comes true and takes its entire dimension and its meaning. I’m interested as different works as photograms of Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, the book of Tanizaki Jun'ichirô : “l’éloge de l’ombre”, paintings of Simon Hantaï, “combustions” of Christian Jaccard, James Turrel, …
