Art Description

Drawing: Graphite, Pencil, Black & White, Paper on Paper.

The idea for The Rabbit King came about from a sketch I was making of a Russian icon painting. I added rabbit ears and a miss-shaped nose to it and gave him his title—Rabbit King. I then developed it into this larger piece. I liked the idea of the rabbits having their own king/god unknown to the rest of us mortals. The drawing was carried out with 6B pencils and erasers for 'cutting in'. The paper is Stonehenge brand with jagged edges on the vertical sides.
