The Siberian Girl Drawing

My visually seductive paintings feature the female form delineated in an array of artistic approaches ranging from subtle to vivacious. The distinguishing feature of my work is the tactile nature of my approach. Paint is smeared, sliced and otherwise worked into the canvas, a process allowing imagery to flow out of the my consciousness, giving each work a distinct personality. I have drawn since childhood and as other children stop at some point in their development, I never did. So my drawing skills seem to have developed naturally, allowing me to freely use a number of different styles and approaches using oils, acrylics, pastels and red chalks. I also enjoy creating sculptures. I was born in Rautavaara, Finland and brought up into a natural, quiet country life. I learned a lot about the juncture of humanity and nature. Correspondingly my work flows with underpinnings of human sensuality with a sense of drama heightened through a limited palette and thespian approach to light and shadow. I have officially studied the commercial field, then I worked as a sales negotiator for about 10 years, after which I have been a picture maker for more than 30 years. I have held several solo exhibitions, and have been included in group and collective shows. My work have been acquired and included in private collections around the world.
