About The Artwork

It all started with the urge to create something as realistic as real life and go even further by making it graphical. Before this artwork I never used charcoals or pastels, I only admired pastel pencils artworks. I gave myself a challenge to make one that will bit every other pastel pencils artwork I have ever seen. It took me over 2 months to complete. During the first few weeks, it looked like I was just combining jargons. I was so worried, I had to put it up online to seek for other people's opinions, but that was a bad idea. I decided to take it so serious and I said I was going to prove everyone wrong and I did. The Struggle represent how one should keep fighting even when others give up on you. Paddle your way out and prove them wrong. It was painted on a white pastel paper. The black water was painted with charcoal pencils, pastel pencils, while the whites were painted with chalks, pastels pencils, white charcoal pencils. The man and others were done with pastel pencils. It was finally sprayed with a fixative
