About The Artwork

26th September 2023 Dear Mrs Byrne, RE: 'Egg Island Your manuscript was brought to our attention at the latest Editorial Board meeting when we discussed the potential of its publication. Having read all the reports and taken note of the Editors’ opinions, we can confidently state that your work was found to be a most thrilling, absorbing, and attractive read that was very well-written and will certainly captivate a wide audience. The Board was very pleased with the intriguing plot, which was well-conceived and developed, alongside a fascinating cast of characters. We believe your work is very well-structured, allowing the story to build progressively and weave together the underlying messages included in your work, including the importance of engaging with new cultures and the centrality of home that are sure to resonate with many contemporary readers. The Board was keen to comment on the ambitious scope of the work and the engaging quality of the prose, which successfully delivered the reader into the strange and wonderful world of Egg Island and its inhabitants. Likewise, even though your work is temporally historical and spatially separate from our own, you have grounded the story with enough familiarity in the modern world that the reader can easily navigate the societies you have constructed, which is a testament to your abilities as a writer in establishing a scene. The story progresses to a satisfying conclusion that will leave readers discussing 'Egg Island' long after they have finished reading it and wondering what will happen to the survivors of Egg Island. The Board feels that your work would be a worthy addition to our collection of literature. Therefore, I take great pleasure in providing a contract for your perusal and your approval if you so decide.

Ta Byrne is a Thai artist who lives and works on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, just off the south coast of Thailand. Her Oil Paintings . are vibrant, eye-catching and packed with a sense of fun and humour. Ta takes humans as her focal point in her Figurative Painting but abstracts these figures by distorting them and using a cartoonish style to create a more humorous feel. While her work is mostly representational, she incorporates Surrealist elements in many of her paintings, making her one of the most exciting artists working in Thailand today. Ta comes from humble beginnings, living out her childhood on the rural outskirts of Bangkok as a farmer's daughter. During her teen years, she worked sewing shirts in a Bangkok sweatshop, and it was during this time that she met an old street artist who invited her to his studio. This sparked her desire to become an artist, and since then, she has gone on to produce Abstract and Cubist paintings that have received international acclaim from art connoisseurs.
