This piece is one work from Cline's "Torso" series, in which she arranges various images and shapes to suggest the female body. The stamped or painted images Cline incorporates are often symbolic and are connotations of femininity or womanhood. Unlike other works from Cline's "Torso" series, this piece is a medley of chaotic, psychedelic hues; swaths of electric green, yellow, pink, and blue are streaked with metallic shades of gold and orange. Near the center top portion of the piece, Cline vertically aligns a stack of rectangular shapes in faint black ink. The arrangement and shape reference a spinal column, a recurring element in the series. The centrality of the spine is important, as it visually aids the viewer in locating different aspects of the torso. Scattered around the edges, images of glitter roses and butterflies create the body's contour and visually aid the viewer in mapping out features. Two daffodils can be found near the center of the work, parallel to one another in a way that would suggest breasts. Beneath the daffodils, a red flower can be found in the center of the stomach area, mimicking the location of a belly button. The wilting petals of the navel flower create visual movement and direct the viewer further down the composition. An image of a large fly is positioned directly underneath the flower belly button, turned so that the head of the fly faces downwards. The forelegs of the fly stretch forward and attach to an orange butterfly sprinkled with glitter. The image used is the same as the other butterflies found around the border of the work, but here it stands alone. The placement of the fly and the butterfly might suggest the female reproductive system, indicating a uterus and genitalia. On either side of the two insects are large conch shells in yellow and pink, angled outwards. The shells are a bit ambiguous but could resemble legs or hips. Most of the elements in the torso connect to various aspects of womanhood. The floral elements are common motifs in Cline's work, connoting beauty, purity, and feminine virtue. The insects and the small blooming flower positioned near the woman's pelvis might reference motherhood and fertility.
