About The Artwork
Having been a great admirer of Dorothea Lange's photography, her pictures being the basis for many of my airbrush paintings. I felt it only fitting that I should include a drawing from her final photograph. Though I haven't any idea who the young girl in her photograph was, I was hard-pressed to find a more striking photo, or one more difficult to draw. For whatever reason, I decided to call my drawing "What If". Possibly because of the way the girl looks up at the clouds overhead, the wonderment in her eye. Maybe because that's what I would be doing. I guess that's as good a reason for doing a drawing as any. Enjoy
