Blind is Love Drawing

An old cliché or truth – that I started exploring in my teenage and that I’m not sure I still believe in – tells us that love is blind. It sometimes happens that one’s whole perspective changes when one falls in love. In fact, everything changes; even the air seems different. The old certitudes fly to the sky and get lost in the atmosphere like a helium balloon. The love between the two characters in my work makes them forget about everything and, as I see it, the entire situation soon turns into a dangerous game. I created this artwork during my teenage years, when I was, for the first time in my life, consciously analyzing myself, my inner feelings and my evolution. I was noting everything. I let everything happen. I was curious about how I might feel; what types of feelings I could explore. I was my own subject of study. For the first time, I realized that I was thirsty for poetry, love, metaphors, journeys, songs, inner discoveries, connections… I accepted it all and studied it with great seriousness. The works I made in those years mark a period of complete purity and freshness that I am grateful I experienced.
