The Shape of Her Words #4 is one of a series of six panels inspired by Maya Angelou’s inauguration poem “On the Pulse of Morning.” I created the works on handmade Japanese paper using pastel and charcoal. The edges of the large scale panels are bound in silk. The artworks are a response to the story of hope I saw in Angelou’s words. The style is my typical bold line, feathered in color, earth tones, using natural materials. These form an abstract image reflecting strength, persistence, movement, growth, hope. The panels are suitable for corporate, hospital, school and large home space placement.
