A painting executed via an "Aomeituofo" happening style of painting.

"Aomeituofo: Gracias Por Compartir Tu Energía"

Aomeituofo: Thank You For Sharing Your Energy

The exhibition was held at the 209 Gallery at the University Of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus.

To understand this painting we must understand the concept of "Aomeituofo" through which it was created. The term "Aomeituofo" arises from the ancient Mandarin of the Buddhist temples of northern China. It translates informally into "supreme blessings" and "peace in your soul." I came into contact with this term through the practice of Tai Chi, in which this salute is repeated at the beginning and end of each session, and in the case of the dojo where I practice, it is usually followed by the phrase "thank you for sharing your energy." It is about recognizing the energy that we all carry within and unites us to the rest of existence.

The pieces in "Aomeituofo" consist of a performance / happening style of painting that subtly incites the union of people by the performing of the same action, which will produce a variation of aesthetic results. In itself, the piece is about the ritual of participation and respect between individuals, regardless of the ideologies of each one. It is the act of painting together.
