The motive was created for the 85th birthday of Victor Jara. He is one of the best known poets, musician and political activist in Chile who supported then president Salvador Allende and the Unidad Popular. Their colours are red, black, white, blue and were used for this picture. The quote ‘deja la vida volar’ (let life fly) is taken from Jara’s song with the same name. Victor Jara was murdered on the 16th of September 1973 by Augusto Pinochet’s henchmen.

As a street artist I like to work with large scale, colourful motives that seem almost decorative. However, when you take your time and do not fall for that trap, you will discover the true nature of the subject, which often addresses social issues, privacy, our perception of wealth and environmental challenges. I draw my inspiration from my former life as a scientist. This taught me to dig deep into a subject and keep asking questions until I can concentrate the information down to one central idea. I then paint stencils using bright colours to make it more pleasing to the eye and get the audience’s attention, without losing that initial punch. In the studio I work with stencils sprayed on canvas and other objects, hand-made screen-prints and more recently, with "Cut-Outs" where I do not spray my stencils anymore. Instead, they are cut out from thick coloured paper that is then mounted on top of each other. Thus, I create original pieces of art with a 3D-like texture, that grab the viewer's attention to deliver critical statements
