About The Artwork
Installation for an outdoor exhibition in a rural area as a group display with several artists in Northern Germany in 2011. The issue for the exhibition was 'Warden(s)/Guard(s)/Keeper(s)' (depending on the translation of the German word 'Wächter' which has different meanings in English). I choose a shamanic approach to thematise the withheld genius (golden ball on a fishing line), moved by natural forces (the wind and rain and reflecting the sun) but controlled and captivated (cage of drawstring). The shamanic aspect was underlined by black crow quills placed on top of the long wooden sticks.
