About The Artwork
I recently moved to Lisbon and wanted to pay homage to the city. It inspired me to combine my love for urban sketching and pop-ups in one project. I wanted to highlight the places I've seen and make them come alive through my pop-ups. It's a visual 3D pocket guide for sights to see in and around Lisbon.

Gabriela is an Austrian illustrator and paper mechanic currently living and working in Lisbon. She studied illustration in the UK and was the 2nd runner up to 'Emerging Paper Engineers' in 2014 awarded by the Movablebook Society. Gabriela was the paper engineer for 'The Pop-Up Bible' and has since worked on several private commissions for pop-ups as well as illustrations. Her current work is inspired by and evolves around urban landscapes, animals as well as her travels, which are depicted in her illustrations and pop-ups.
