For more than 3700 million years of Earth history, the magma to mud cycle has steadily generated new crustal rock. Reactive clay minerals are critical for the recycling of crustal rocks. The material itself inspires me. I work with red clay creating wall installations to help people’s wellbeing - especially the ones living in busy cities. I have researched thoroughly the subject of mental health and discovered that newly developed parts of brain can only destress if the prime parts of brain rest in nature or surrounded with natural elements. I recently started working with terracotta creating individual components. I install them as a part of art installation. I truly believe these pieces work for mental wellbeing by representing organic beauty and help to raise awarness about environmental issues. They also raise an awareness about sustainability as piece is fired only once to save on carbon release. Terracotta is similar to Earth's crustal rock hence it is used here as a main material body to inspire future generations to think about what we are doing with our natural materials.
