Artist and photographer born in 1986. Main fields of work: public-art projects, kinetic and light installations, interactive installations, conceptual and abstract photography. Victor strives to apply his experience in studio photography in installations and sculptures, which engages light as a key medium. At the same time experiments with artificial lighting for kinetic and sculptural artworks affects his photographic approach. Besides that Victor Polyakov is a guest lecturer. He lectured on the History of public art, contemporary art and experimental photography. Victor Polyakov has been working at the intersection of art, design and technology for over 6 years. The creation of art objects for public urban spaces, public events and commercial brands are the main areas of his artist’s work. Knowledge of production processes allows Victor to conduct projects from the stage of concepts, designs and prototypes to production, installation and maintenance. A team of engineers and programmers, working with the artist, allows to solve multiple technical problems. The workshop studio has the necessary equipment for rapid prototyping. A wide range of interests, such as geometrical optics, observational astronomy and astrophysics, the psychology of visual perception and cognitive science allows Victor to confidently move between different contexts when creating artwork. The artist’s current focus is on creating public art objects in urban and natural areas: large-scale spatial objects, light installations and lighting concepts, kinetic sculptures, pavilion structures and small architectural forms.
