The nanny Installation

The work is a installation composed by several non conventional objects called “props” i.e. scenic materials which were found in United States and which have been actually used during a horror movie. The “props” are casts of different parts of the human body. They are fastened to the canvas on which there are printed some human mouths. The canvas is framed to reproduce the shape of a screen. The screen is being watched by a young child, who is really realistic, a “reborn baby”. The child is enveloped in her blanket and she is resting on her pillow. Under the baby, there is a carpet on which there are cell phone, a remote control and a stuffed animal. The work is characterized by hyperrealism and it is terrifying like a horror movie. The aim of the work is to create a feeling of disgust and shock but at the same time it wants to create a feeling of protection towards the baby who should not watch the screen.
