The One That Got Away Installation

My work is informed by my rural surroundings, nature providing me with the physical material and inspiration for most of my work. This usually involves traditional skills such as stripping, splitting, and charring of wood, weaving with natural materials, and drying of berries, to create contemporary art works. The quantities of the material gathered, and the preservation and decomposition of this material have become increasingly important in my work, and reflect my preoccupation with the passage of time and the fragility and preciousness of life.
