The exhibition consists of an articulation from memories referring to urban places. The work proposes a look and a reflection about everlasting memories and urban points of reference. In Movimiento en Cmara Lenta are presented marks and footprints of the city obtained after long walks: relief drain covers, textures, rust, etc, marks of desire, the continuous change of the surroundings, the illusion of thinking that we can collect like the insects, these marks in a painting.

This exhibition tries to bring us towards new systems of existence. In a dynamic of shape, color and structure, it makes organisms emerge from corners, from a mark or from a common place which are rescued from the oblivion. It organizes a creative, alive and plastic ecology of what was found, of what was not lost, of what was here. But it also turns our attention to the new and, in an act of transformation, this viewpoint of the reality brings us to the non-visible and everyday world opening the door to the discovery, to the pictorial revelation experience and to the harmony of the stain. This is the presence of time, the past in a rusted image, faded of an integral longing and, the present that is renewed and rebuild in the collected objects, in this abstract physics of sounds, colors, soil, sky and the dreams of inhabitants from unlimited territories who break the external and internal nomination. Through all these elements, the exhibition tries to bring us to the cathartic state of contemplation.


Jaime Alfaro is a chilean painter who was born in Coquimbo in October 17th, 1971. He studied at the University of La Serena and his degree is Bachelor in Education and Visual Arts. He has carried out different worshops about graphic expression. One of them is called Vivir el Afiche given by Mieczyslaw Gorowski. Apart from this, we can also mention Lo Esencial Significa given by Mieczyslaw Wassilewski and, finally, a seminar given by Lech Majewski at the University of La Serena.
