This piece (combination 13) was meanwhile realized as originally planned: inkjet on fine art japan paper (awagami, 45 gr.) with tricolor, image production, zurich, http://www.tricolor.ch/en/. (The e.a. version previously shown here was and is not for sale.) The measurement of the artwork itself is 111 cm x 200 cm (framed free hanging as intended this would add up to something like 130x220 cm – so you need quite some wall!). The “animal garden” – as you could call it more prosaically – was created for fun and enjoyment. It plays with a whole bunch of things – photos of animals (alive, stuffed, kitsch, sculptured) and backgrounds, colours (from Florentine art), sizes, perspective, light, symmetries, time and space, (dis-)appearing, de- and reconstruction, even mathematics and art itself … (“new-tech-art”?). But not just that, as second sights will not only reveal a lot of detail but “destroy” preconceived ideas, formed patterns, memories, associations through which we normally perceive “reality”: It is not a “garden of Eden”, not just “spring, summer, autumn (background of blown-up spring flower leaves), winter”, not the animals of the four evangelists…. Just try it and enjoy! Please note: The special and delicate quality of the photo support material cannot be rendered perfectly on computers!
