About The Artwork

Each day either in the early morning or in the evening, I walk down Kapp road which is a country road that leads to my flower farm. On this road is an old barn where the barn swallows dwell. They fly in and out heading to the days work or adventure. I enjoy their morning and evening songs along with their flight patterns. The are a large community of birds and seem to care for one another. This walk was the inspiration for this work. My hope is the viewers will see and feel either the warm sunrise from the East side of the road or the cool sunset from the west side. Both are intense experiences of peace and wonder. I consistently work in mixed media because of the multiple layers that can be created along with deep textures. My work is often a subject associated with the natural world and more specifically, my farm and land. My style is abstract expressionism or so I've been told.
