Some of us have been labeled weird, odd, eccentric and never really fit in. And growing up this way was really hard in school but hitting middle age I have learned that being different is a gift. Finding my uniqueness in how I think or process the world is what makes me stand out. And that’s what I want to share about this piece in that it may be inspire those who have felt distant and alone. That what they carry is the very thing that will make you fly. So grow your wings and don’t be afraid to stand out. This piece is part of the private collection I did for human trafficking awareness where I did 100 paintings in 100 days. Women and children have had their identities stolen through modern day slavery but it doesn’t mean they can’t rise above their past. They are not their trauma and deserve to be treated with love and respect. Let’s work together to protect those who are the most vulnerable.
