As a nod to Edouard Manet’s 1863 oil piece Déjeuner sur l’Herbe, this work represents figures in a simple setting that still manages to convey contemporary culture and circumstance. The original work that inspired this piece has been recreated a number of times, and continues to represent changes and transformation in the social world and its many contributing factors. My piece represents the life that we are living in 2022.I am hoping that this artwork helps the viewer understand better today’s world and how he/she relates to innovative artistic process constitutes painted figures that sit atop a photomontage collage, which is modified digitally and printed before the painted element is added. The final result is a multimedia painting that contributes to the continued representations of time, space, place and people reflected in the many interpretations of what a Déjeuner sur l’Herbe means to each artist that has approached it
