Dysmorphia Artwork

I am the artist of this piece. I suffer from Body Dysmorphia among other mental health disorders. Dysmorphia is a hard thing to put into words, it is debilitating and destressing, it exists 24/7 in which the sufferer is severely distressed by their self image. They do not see what others see, their self perception is warped and the cause of their distress can vary and alternate between specific features. It can be heavily centered on one aspect or encompass all aspects. It often leads to suicide and I myself have attempted such whilst trying to come to terms with the illness. This piece is a self portrait of myself and an attempt to capture the emotion and distress of this debilitating illness.
