About The Artwork

Climate Change – Now is the time to make positive changes For many the climate crisis washes over their heads. ‘The Eye of the Storm’ is a piece of art created in crystal to acknowledge the climate crisis that is unfolding in our beautiful world. Made from semi-precious stones and crystals The ‘Eye of the Storm’ is designed to show movement, the breaking of a wave, the crash of sand and sea, the eye of a hurricane… all formed stronger through our human interaction with the environment. The crystals and semi-precious stones, from Amazonite to Tiger’s Eye are millions of years old. They help to show us that we are here for a short time, but an important one. That the world should be left by us, as it was, for future generations. We are the protectors of our world.

Crystal Art Wright Biography – CRYSTAL ART WRIGHT – J. Paul Wright We live in a society where it seems that every second needs to be filled. This is often on activities that leave us feeling ‘Tired in Body, Mind and Spirit’. My art is produced to allow the viewer to stop, to look, to touch the pieces, to gain strength from them, to feed their spirit within, and just like the crystals in each piece of art, allow them to glow, just as the pieces of art do when the sunlight shines on them. I was born and bred in Blackpool, Lancashire in the UK. For the first 40 years of life I did not believe, I could ever be an ‘artist’. My journey into art started later in life, just before my 40th birthday. At that time my family were going through a tumultuous time and I needed a way to calm my tired mind, spirit and body. Using a fond memory from my childhood, that of visiting the Natural History Museum in London in which I had bought a small pot of crystals, I began to experiment with semi-precious stones and crystals to form a piece that later became known as the ‘Crystal Tree’: Each piece of Art I produce is made with love. Every crystal chosen for its own spot in the piece, then placed and glued by hand. In the largest pieces I produce there can be over 10,000 semi-precious stones and crystals. These are often made up of over twenty varieties of stones and crystals from Amethyst to Garnet to Botswanan Zebra Jasper. Given the intricacies of each unique piece, they can take well in excess of a year to produce. In between my art, I work as a Public Health Director and assist with a children’s charity. I hope that you like my pieces, that you will find solace in them as I do.
