About The Artwork
OK, Amazon and others - so much gets delivered in cardboard packaging. Whilst piling some up for destruction, I suddenly saw them as sculpture. They'd been piled up supported by a bentwood chair. I photographed the combo. More boxes still, so I used other chairs. To unify the collection, I turned the chairs scarlet. Each sculpture is printed in archival colours on archival paper, and collaged onto the board. The background is aluminium foil, each square of foil expressing its edges, and left slightly textured. The slim frame wood painted in matching red. The work was exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy's Summer Show of 2017.
