Daniela Frank, artistically known as Kinari, was born in Germany in 1971, and has developed an outstanding international career that transcends geographical and cultural borders. After living more than two decades in Spain, her artistic identity reflects a fusion of global influences, consolidating herself as a citizen of the world in the broadest sense of the word. This cosmopolitan vision is deeply intertwined with her art, in which she explores universal themes such as the intrinsic connection between humanity and the natural environment, life through the face and skin of the human being. In her portraits, she explores the deep connection between the human spirit and the natural world, a symbiotic relationship often forgotten in the hustle and bustle of modern life. Using a wide range of mixed media (charcoal, graphite, coffee, chalk, watercolors, leaf collages dry and pages of aged books...) she seeks to discover the narratives of life engraved on people's faces, the human face, in all its vulnerability and resistance, it is a landscape of experience, memory and passions. Every line, shadow and expression is subtle reflection of lives and ancestors, like the rings of a tree or the veins of a leaf. Watercolors bleed into her hands like vibrant, colorful emotions that they dot instants of a happy past, a fleeting present and a hopeful future, so ephemeral and eternal for the human being. Chaos and order, the cycle of existence. The leaves, once vibrant and full of life, now fragile and dry, become metaphors for the transitory nature of our lives, where beauty resides not only in vitality but in the passage of time. Similarly, the pages of aged books represent the accumulation of knowledge, stories and more stories than we carry within us, intertwining personal identity with the broader and more timeless human experience. Kinari's art can be interpreted as a form of visual activism, where each work is not only aesthetic, but carries with it an intuitive message rich in shades of natural colors coming from the mixture of both noble materials in a melting pot of techniques as of impossible strokes where warm textures rest full of passion. Through her unique style, Kinari leads us to reflect on the interdependence between living beings mainly and the richness of the natural environment as a provider of inspiring resources of harmony and balance.
