From the series "Extinction" Artwork

The piece is from the series "Extinction". It is inspired by the big wood fires we experience in the last years. In my neighbourhood there was one of the devastating fire ever since. It happened in the mountains. They suspect that it was triggered by a campfire, which was already forbidden because of enormous dryness. The series is about our selfishness and greed. Our idleness and ignorance. We will extinct our species, and of course many others on earth. And still people don't get it and prefer a comfortable life in the rich countries, don't care about the poor regions on earth. They just disappear, but no problem, we still live a good life. So we think. But more and more there are signs that this is just an illusion. The series wants to describe an hopeless situation. "There is no exit" it wants to tell the viewer. Packed in a kind of ritual beauty (there are also small pieces on canvas and objects).
