About The Artwork
This piece was inspired by erosion and nature: driftwood, seashells, mountains. I layered painted pieces of wood that I cut with a jigsaw and painted in an earthy vegetable-toned palette. It gives the work depth and a sculptural quality, just like the objects that inspired it. I hope this conveys warmth and grounded-ness and makes the viewer feel at home.

I live and work in lovely Weehawken, NJ, a small town on the Hudson River. A lifelong artist, I studied at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and Rome, Italy. Inspired by nature, landscapes and erosion, I love organic shapes. I work intuitively and experimentally, driven by composition, color, and texture. My experiences in textile design and printmaking inform my process, showing up in the pattern, layering and composition of the work.
