Industrial Ego Boost, or Why We Are So Clever. Artwork

A hearty work of protest. There is a lot of ambiguous stuff in this poster, and the ultimate meaning is in the eye of the beholder. I hope it might jog your imagination. I find digital painting excellent for this dreamy kind of stuff; I have so little patience these days for oils that never dry or acrylics that dry too quickly. Also, my daytime job while painting this was doing the perfect opposite; inking for a nice Children's book, so the darkness of the night wanted something perfectly else. If you want my personal take: Sweden runs on lots of subsidies; whether it's the housing of Real Workers or directly to the factories where they're stored 9-5, presumably (but not necessarily) doing Real Work. All is paid for by timber from stolen forests and reindeer feeding grounds rich in ore – both taken from the indigenous Sámi people. One of those days, the balloon will get pricked by a giant needle.
